Respiratory Services
Our Respiratory Services Department provides valuable pulmonary services to patients under our care, including the ventilator pathway program. The Department also offers:
Pulmonary Function Testing.
This diagnostic tool helps pinpoint specific lung-related problems. Tests help determine flow rates, lung volumes and diffusion capacities. Pulmonary stress testing is also available.
Bronchoscopy.
In this procedure, a scope is place in the mouth to examine the airways and obtain samples of secretions or lung tissue. The procedure, which is usually done under conscious sedation, takes about 10 to 15 minutes. The recovery period is about 1 to 2 hours. It’s important to make arrangements for someone to drive you home afterward.
