Our Cardiovascular Imaging Laboratory

St. Rose Hospital’s Cardiovascular Imaging Laboratory is one of the most sophisticated on the West Coast. With cutting-edge technology, highly skilled physicians and a top-notch lab team, we can diagnose and treat heart disease more accurately than ever before.

The Laboratory introduces a new generation of cardiac imaging technology called a “flat panel detector,” a digital breakthrough that allows for an unparalleled visual quality of diagnostic cardiac images.

With this new technology and our highly skilled health care team, St. Rose has been designated as a “Cardiac Receiving Center” by the Alameda County Emergency Medical Services Agency. This innovative countywide program is designed to provide immediate intervention to heart attack victims.

Through the 911 Emergency Medical Services (EMS), patients suspected of having a heart attack will be transported to the closest available Cardiac Receiving Center. St. Rose is one of only four Alameda County hospitals to have met the criteria for this important designation.

To be designated as a Cardiac Receiving Center, St. Rose had to demonstrate “best practice” in providing emergency cardiac care for patients experiencing a heart attack. The American College of Cardiology recommends the “Door to Balloon Time“ for angioplasty patients to be within 90 – 120 minutes of the patient entering the Emergency Room. Currently, St. Rose Hospital averages under 70 minutes and has one of the lowest door to balloon times in Alameda County.
